Labor Day, 2020

As Covid carried on, we became desperate for another short trip. West Virginia was about an 8 hour drive, so why not! I had literally no expectations. It was GORGEOUS and aptly named, The Mountain State.

We stayed for the weekend at Adventures on the Gorge. It is a campground, but you can also rent cabins, which is what we did. They had a pool, but we went into the river. They had gentle rapids, perfect for my young family, and tougher rapids for the more adventurous and able bodied.

In fact, the only thing I took issue with was a woman and her shirt…The Californian in me.
