LATAM Air Review

JFK to Lima

I flew nonstop from JFK to Lima in business/first. At first glance, the seats were comfortable and nice enough. Since the flight took off shortly after midnight, it felt like forever before dinner was served. After eating, you can recline your seat to flat and put down a thin bedroll, meant to make the bed more comfortable for sleeping. Be warned, the beds are quite narrow. I am 5’5” and found the bed to be a little uncomfortable. If you are a larger size, I cannot imagine it being comfortable.

Lima to Puerto Maldonado

Fun Fact: Book on the Spanish site and you will save money. Also, LATAM allows liquids in your carry ons for domestic flights, so don’t throw out your bottled water!

I ended up buying their version of domestic business class for less than the coach cost purchased on the US site. The cost included 2 checked bags per person and the seats were essentially a comfort class type seat with the middle seat blocked. They provided snacks and drinks. I do not think people seated in coach received any food or drink.

Puerto Maldonado to Cusco

I booked these flights with Chase Sapphire Rewards. Unfortunately that meant using the English site and higher prices. All good though because free is always best! We were not provided good or drink on the very short flight. Warning: Cusco is in a valley, surrounded by the Andes. There is some pitching of the plane as the pilots navigate the mountains.

Cusco to Lima

I again bought domestic business class for our final domestic flight and had the same experience as before. They again provided snacks and drinks. I do not think people seated in coach received any food or drink.
