Delaware is a very small state and The First State, since it was the first to ratify the US Constitution. Unfortunately I have spent more time driving through it, as opposed to seeing parts of it. I did make a stop at the Hagley Museum located along the Brandywine River in Wilmington. It is the site of an old gunpowder mill, owned by the du Pont family.
Maryland is a neighboring state, known as The First Line State, the name bestowed by General George Washington as a tribute to the Maryland Line, who served courageously in many Revolutionary War battles. Annapolis is a cute town and the home of the US Naval Academy. It’s very easy to visit as part of a trip to Washington DC.
