Arkansas and the Waltons

Since the northwest part of Arkansas wasn’t far out of the way between Oklahoma and Missouri, we decided to stop there. It was a great decision since Arkansas is The Natural State, famous for its natural scenic beauty, clear lakes and streams, and wildlife.

First, we went to the original Walmart – known as Walton’s. Walmart is a huge part of American culture, like it or not.

We also visited Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. This might be one of the most underrated museums in America and is certainly a reason to go to Arkansas. Alice Walton formed the museum with her on money. The grounds alone are spectacular and filled with sculptures. The architecture is beautiful and there is even a Frank Lloyd Wright building in the woods. There are hiking trails for nature lovers and inside the actual museum is some intriguing art. They also offer art supplies to children. This place is wonderful for both adults and kids. Thank you Alice Walton!
